After having heli-skied all season long in beautiful Canada B.C. - I had to follow a strong inner voice to go up to wild Alaska in April and May to ski with legendary Doug Coombs in the Chugach mountains in 1995. We were flying out of the famous Tsainer Lodge on Thomson Pass and skied radical terrain all over the surrounding mountain. This was the the birth place of modern extreme skiing in north America. It was a wild and rustic place - but full of high spirit and a place where you still could experience freedom.

Years later I returned and put in two seasons of heli-ski guiding during the period of March - April and May. Still magic.
