NEW ZEALAND
For skiing in the southern hemisphere there are several cool options out there, other than the magical Andes mountains in south America. New Zealand. This is a fabulous destination for keeping in shape during the summer in regards of heliskiing. In the year of 2005 I was putting in one heliski season in the south island of New Zealand in a place called Methven. The skiing takes place in the wild and rugged Arrow-smith mountain range, spectacular play ground for heliskiing and snowboarding for all levels. Radical steeps and gentle cruisers its all there. A very laid back atmosphere, sleepy little villages, magical outdoors, relaxed people give this palace a feel like it was still stuck in the 70's.
